This popped up on SM and may be of interest to some, quite the collection being auctioned off!

That's some collection! I think one or two of the estimated prices are a bit on the low side.

As the Auctioneers are based in the USA the shipping/import costs would be a significant addition for anyone in the UK buying anything, I would have thought.

There is some interest in UK items in the US, and the prices are generally lower than here - but you have to get it home!

5 different collections brought together for the auction, main source appears to be from an expat who moved over the pond.
Estimates probably reflect US prices and some UK collectors could pick up relative bargains before import costs.

The first two SNCF ' tender plates ' are in fact cabsides.
The 'carrying handles ' are there for a small plate to indicate the name of the shed.

That is some auction. Simon and the gang at GWRA would have a field day with the main railwayana. The collection of models is seriously impressive as well.

I wonder how much interest there will be in the USA for a lot of the British railwayana, though, so the cost of repatriation might be offset by a lower purchase price.
