“Boxing up” is a fairly common industrial term for “putting back together” after something has been apart for maintenance, not just with regard to boilers. “Get it boxed up and ready to go. “

Just by way of signposting to more information about the operation of this service through time (schedules/ diagrams/ rosters etc), and for those who are not aware of this source, its well worth taking a look at the LNER Encyclopedia, where you will find two threads with a total of around 55 posts devoted to the topic of the Scotch Goods. They are well worth a look for much more on this fascinating topic

Lots of various meanings if you Google boxed up, but one that probably fits well is - to put things back where they should be, putting things away in their place. That seams to fit the bill (who's William, or is that a Lancashire thing? - William/Bill - LOL) :D

So how long do we have to see her in steam? Is there any kind of itinerary out there for those of us who have distance to travel to get in a visit?
