No camera with me today. Just set up my sound gear, stood back and soaked up the experience as she accelerated hard past Sandbridgebury north of St Albans. Absolute magic.

Lovely sight this morning, just south of Harpenden. Made a change from being t'other side of town! The sound was superb.

I didn't realise until today that 6233 wasn't bringing her back and that the return leg is diesel hauled. Hoping to catch 9 later on her way north.

Every reason for there to be a diesel on the rear - good to see WCRC letting No.9 'run free' on what might be the A4's final mainline run.

Well there you go. A trip to York up the MML without a diesel on the back. Had I known I would have booked and so its seems that you can get to York with pure steam. I guess the diesel that does the return will be up there to do the shunting honours.

This was definitely a banker for the inclusion of a diesel. A shame the info couldn't of been provided earlier so a few extra late bookings could of been made, unless the train was fully booked then it's irevelant. Still great to see it on it's own and hopefully not it's final run.

My one shot from today, approaching Glaston Tunnel neat Manton. thankfully the threatened sun didn't appear as I went the west side of the line to avoid the wind, a wise choice if you look at the exhaust. I had intended to go on to Ashwell but the cut down Manton stop meant I didn't have a chance

07/03/2020 - Probably its last main line run for quite a while, Gresley A4 Class pacific - 60009 "Union of South Africa" coasting through Barrow upon Soar station on the down slow line with a running of "The Yorkshireman" from London to York.

Before I upload any sort of media. From my perspectives at Leagrave, Wellingborough, Church Fenton and York. 60009 totally performed astonishingly brilliant at these locations. I will gladly admit there is a slight tear in my eyes. But Number 9 certainly made memories which I forever keep as one of the best
