York to Tollerton in a fraction over 10 minutes according to RTT, start to pass 60mph or thereabouts?

A mate has spotted 'Tornado' just south of Darlington South Jn, doing around 77/78 with load 9 and a dead 67.

York to Darlington, 44miles 10 chains. Completed by Tornado in 42 minutes according to RTT. A slow pass at Thirsk (lost 3 minutes between Skelton Jc and Thirsk), average 60mph Thirsk to Northallerton then Northallerton-Darlington (14miles 10 chains pass to pass in 10 minutes, average of 80 on that last section if I've worked that out correctly?

    James

EDIT: Darlington pass to Ferryhill S Jc pass, 12miles 7chains in 8 minutes 15 seconds according to RTT, average of 87.

The higher speed will probably be on the return, as happened with 60019 in 2013.

She's booked to run Ferryhill - York in 45 minutes on the return. 56.25 miles in 45 minutes is an average of 75 pass to stop. I'd imagine you're right! :)

I can almost hear the roar from the escaping steam from here! Looks like a big 'thumbs up' being given from the chap leaning from the cab :)

This one's been known about for a while. NELPG were discussing what was needed before today's run - weighing was one check to be done.

Steve I think you'll find that 62005 hasn't worn the Lord of the Isles nameplates for a few years.Just an observation.
