The Karoo semi desert region in South Africa  <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karoo" target="_blank" class="externalLink" rel="nofollow">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karoo</a> is top of my list of the best places I&#039;ve ever been to in my steam travels.  Even though I was too late getting there to enjoy the 25 class 4-8-4 condensing locos working the section south of De Aar. But the De Aar to Kimblerley section kept me happy for 11...<br />

Very well organised, many thanks to the organisers for getting such a large collection of locos, its a pity the Railways 20&amp;37 are out of service.<br />
Very good for the railway as nearly every service was full to standing on some services, and this was a Thursday!! bodes well for a hot Saturday &amp; Sunday, i will be back on Sunday as i got a 2 day members Rover ticket<br />
