      <title>GWRPG in liquidation</title>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[To all our heritage railway friends, we have to inform you that the GWR Preservation Group is now in full liquidation as from 4th September 2021, details as discussed and given at its EGM, with acceptance by shareholders who attended the meeting coupled with proxy forms returned.<br />

This website will cease to be available once its years contract has finished, due this month.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[During the last week, at Southall Railway Centre, home to the GWR Preservation Group, two Ruston diesel locomotives and three wagons were transported away to their new home at Tanat Valley Light Railway.<br />
<br />
Our sincere thanks go to Reid’s Transport for a very professional and friendly move of the five items. I was personally amazed at the transport trailer facilities that are used to load and offload any type of railway stock.<br />

Unfortunately the whole project was spoilt by a theft from the two...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Much has happened since our last update, including the notification of the GWR Preservation Group’s closure.<br />
<br />
Director Mike Gorringe and principals had discussed the future of the group and with no income from steaming fees due to locomotive ten year boiler tickets both falling in 2019 and dropping membership, it was decided to sell off its current stock and close the group down.<br />
<br />
Current site problems are such that the group has to move stock off site by lifting buffer stops and running...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[In our present financial circumstances with very limited income and no steaming fees from our two industrial locomotives out on hire due to the extensive restoration work required, Principal members and myself Director Mike Gorringe have to inform you that the GWRPG will be closing down its membership on March 31st 2019.<br />

In these circumstances, all membership and 200 Club direct debits must now be terminated immediately with your appropriate banks by March 31st 2019.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[On 21 February 2018 the Talyllyn Railway celebrated the centenary of its locomotive No.6 &#039;Douglas&#039; in style, by revealing it in a brand new livery of RAF Traffic Blue to mark the 100th anniversary of both it and the RAF.<br />
