      <content:encoded><![CDATA[As older members will be aware, in the 1990&#039;s Steam Railway magazine initiated a scheme to purchase some of the last remaining 16T steel bodied Mineral Wagons. The project was very well received and the money raised eventually purchased 39 wagons, which were offered a home by the Great Central Railway. The aim of the project was &quot;to recreate a lengthy train of mineral wagons&quot;. Three wagons subsequently went to the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Went past Southall depot today by rail at a slow speed and saw a Toad in light BR grey outside which I assume to be 68766? Looks as if it is freshly outshopped and according to the <a href="https://ws.rhrp.org.uk/WagonSurvey/displayvehicle.php?Ref=GK2LYCI9HN7UOETAFDP4" target="_blank" class="externalLink" rel="nofollow">database</a> is is privately owned.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[It is relatively easy to keep track of when locomotives move from one railway to another or when another loco is preserved. This is not quite the case with carriages and wagons. Whilst we have the carriage database on the VCT website there is no easy way to monitor what vehicles have moved around.<br />

So if you know of any movements then please post them to this thread so that those involved in C&amp;W can keep track.<br />

There are plenty of beautifully restored carriages in the UK and many other under restoration. But does it excist some kind of <i>new build projects </i>(completely from scratch), like createing coaches that have been lost to preservation, create a &quot;missing link&quot; coach etc.<br />
