Join us for a weekend of steam hauled services including visiting LBSCR Terrier 2678 'Knowle'!

Visit the Spa Valley Railway over the weekend of 17th & 18th July 2021 to enjoy three steam locomotives, including an 1880 built Terrier, in action hauling trains between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge.

Visiting LBSCR Terrier 2678 'Knowle' owned by The Terrier Trust and based at the Kent & East Sussex Railway will join resident Bulleid Pacific 34053 'Sir Keith Park' and Hunslet Austerity No. 2890 'Douglas', hauling trains to an intensive two train timetable over the Spa Valley line!

'Knowle' was built at Brighton Works in 1880 and will give everyone a taste of what a Terrier in service will be like as the restoration of Spa Valley based 'Sutton' nears completion. 2678 will spend the weekend hauling a two coach train, formed of two of our British Rail Southern Region Green MK1s (BCK and SO) whilst the Battle of Britain and 'Douglas' will handle the four coach train, these two locomotives will alternate at Eridge and provide assistance to shunt the carriages which will allow 'Knowle' to operate in both directions.

Over the weekend you can enjoy some of our steam hauled dining experiences too. On Saturday 17th you can enjoy Afternoon Tea, Fish & Chip Supper and a Real Ale train and on Sunday 18th you can sit back and relax and enjoy a freshly prepared Sunday Roast on board our High Weald Belle.

On the Saturday evening the dining train will be hauled by 'Sir Keith Park' and 'Douglas' with 'Knowle' joining for a trip to double head one of the later evening services.

Tickets are valid all day for train rides between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge with High Rocks and Groombridge stations open too, on the Saturday your tickets will also include travel (not dining) on board the evening trains. No need to pay extra!

Tickets are £15 per adult, £14 per senior (60+), £7.50 per child and £30 per family (2 adults + 2 children), all HRA/members discounts will be valid along with discounted travel for those we have a reciprocal travel arrangement with.
