What is the latest news with this project? I have had a look on the WSSRT's website, but the last practical news is a limited update from back in November 09.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. I believe things are progressing with No 3639 at Williton albeit slowly, whereas work on No 6705 at Crewe seems to be going nicely. There's a fundraising campaign underway for No 6705 - see http://www.wsr.org.uk/6705.htm for details. Other things such as the proposed museum and workshops at Bishops Lydeard remain on the cards but are, of course, subject to a working partnership with the developers of the proposed housing etc on the Station Farm site. At the moment, it seems that development is held up.

Thanks Steve. This project as a whole is a massive undertaking, and one which I can only wish the best of luck with!

I remember reading that he left because he did not have the time, due to work(employment law barrister) and family commitments.

Robin is still an active WSR volunteer (signalman) and an advisor to the Heritage Carriage Project.

What is the latest with 6705? Is it expected to return to traffic this year?

There has been a lot of problems found on poor work done on it before it arrived on the WSR with work needed doing on the windows again. This is the latest news on the coach http://www.wssrt.co.uk/latest-news-from-the-trust/no6705enjoysaspringclean I won't be able to be at the WSR Spring Gala second weekend when the Swindon Shed is open due to work to find out more on it.

Well I had a chat with two of the lads yesterday, and they said at the rate they are going it will be 150 years to restore all the coaches. The trouble is it a case so often of one step forward and two steps backward when restoring these coaches, as there is always more work needed doing than you think when you start to repair a part.

    That would be me!

The sudden vanishing had a lot to do with disappearing as 'he' and reappearing as 'she'....;)
