Ok thanks - If the sound is captured on video (once I have chance to review the content of the video camera) - I'll post the video clip

On this clip of the Duchess from Stephen Thompson, you can catch the pusher twice, once at 1.49 and then again at 2.01. The second is after she has gone past the camera but the blast of the exhaust steam is clearly heard.

Thanks RalphW I think that is the noise - I'll check my own video this evening.

Although a very nice shot I'd be more concerned at the sight of those ugly masts. The electrification of the Padd - South Wales line appears to be progressing rather quickly. Another location sadly ruined. <BJ>

Having first been announced in 2009, quick is not a word I'd use to describe the GWML electrification :) - Ugly, yes, way over budget, yes, but not quick :) :)

Perhaps 'progressing a little quicker than when it didn't progress at all'. <BJ> :):)

I have now checked my video - which is more of a capture for the sound of the engine as the line was too far away. It is the same chuff (with a slightly metallic tone) that is in the Stephen Thompson video that I heard on Saturday
