Given Dorset CCs lack of funds it may not have the greatest of priorities.

Hello, if you go back to reply 63 of mine you can view my humble photographs if you like.

After Easter the Quay gets busy and photography will be that much more difficult.

    Many thanks

    Nick

I've visited in past years and walked line without camera. Shame but pointless having rails if no trains.

Do we do a new build of the Maid of Kent or Caledonian Princess to complete the scene?

Which forum does he mean? I've seen this discussed on at least two.

The only places it seems to get full and wholehearted support are certain "all railways ever MUST reopen!" Facebook groups.

    Hello,
His passion about saving the line is admiral, FB will not cough up the £x millions needed to make the branch useable.

    Hate campaign?

Realistic a better word. I recently walked and photographed the branch with open eyes.......the sums do not add up.

I don't want him to get dispirited, I want him to channel his doubtless enthusiasm and ideas into an existing line and benefit that. Swanage isn't far away.

Or the turntable project. That is one that actually would benefit Weymouth, possibly even all year round with occasional off-season trips arriving, without disrupting everything.

I am not sure that F/Bk photo is a good advert. Yes, it is full of nostalgia but does tend to harp back to the early days of motor vehicles - no more than 4 mph and a man with a red flag leading.
Not likely to gain much support with motor vehicle users in Weymouth!
