Has anyone been in contact with the South Devon Railway where a 25 is currently resident or equipped if the Paignton & Dartmouth would be willing to lend their 25 ?

The Severn Valley are holding their diesel gala from 18th - 20th May.
Is there any chance of securing a couple of locos from their impressive list of visitors?

I put up a 'then and now' pair of photos of Norton Fitzwarren last week.

This weekend my Railway duties took me to Norton Fitzwarren and here are a pair of shots which might add to last week's views.

The first shows the WSR limit of operations, looking east towards Taunton. Clearly visible ahead are the exit signal from the branch and that from the up main to the station.

The second shot is from a little further west, of the location we call 'Barnstaple Junction'. From left to right visible are: advertising Board, distant signal for branch exit, wagon at bufferstops on Barnstaple road, main line signal, Exeter - Bristol local service on up main, ground frame, and milepost 165-1.

Thank you for the kind comments that are much appreciated! Indeed many hours of work, and a result that I am happy with.

Arms, dear boy, Arms not Cross Bars. Twere only 50v so you just climbed up t'middle. Only thing that made you jump was on cold damp morning a burst of ringing if you caught a wire behind your ear. You should try 8 way arms, side dressed where the entire arm was to one side. On occasion you would climb up the middle, over the top of the wire bed and down and belt yourself in on the outside. As for replacing a wire it was simple you just leaned through the bed. Oh happy days from over 50 years ago.

If only life were like that!:)

As the WSR plc Press Release states, discussions are in progress about possible use of Lydia on the WSR.

Such discussions are never assisted by being conducted in public. When there is something more to know, you will hear it from the WSR Plc.

Congratulations on your acquisition Robin, I'm glad the leak didn't come from North Yorkshire, where we've known of this for a few weeks.

You have impeccable taste but remember buying it is the easy bit!

... and detached as a slip coach to arrive at the designated signal box for her next duty, I would imagine.

As the NYMR owns the Pullman 'Robin', I wonder if there is scope for a deal? Just me wondering, that's all!!

We are a bit against trains dividing in section, here on the WSR.:)

I do however quite like Wickham trollies...

As it happens, I have both eaten lunch and served dinner in 'Robin' on the NYMR.

Speaking entirely personally, the 60's Metro-cam Pullmans, especially in their later refurbished state, don't 'do it for me' in the way that the 20's or 30's cars do...

It also have been going around the WSR as well for a few weeks that a Pullman coach from the NRM was coming, but I decided to stay :Muted: over this until the Coach came.

What is needed is a shed for it to kept in to keep the exterior in a good condition.

Whereas in the SVR there's a special suffix bell code (-1-2) to indicate that a train is going to be divided in section later in its journey, in one of two specific block sections.

I'll leave it to you to work out what the context might be (although I would hope the SVR volunteers who have posted on this thread would know!)
