    Heritage Railway Volunteer:
Yes I am an active volunteer
30742 Charters is currently arranging a unique visit of USA tank 30065 from the KESR to Bristol Harbour for a series of photographic events . To help add to the photographic scene created I need your help please

    In particular, we are seeking:
    * One or two commercial vehicles which would have been in use in the period (so from the 30’s, 40’s 50’ or very early 60’s. These might be open-backed lorries to which goods might be being loaded. Bristol Museum has a very nice "Bristol" Lorry which we can use
    * One or two vintage cars from the same period, to complete the scene. Can be anything from a classic 30's car up to modernitiy with an early Morris Minor or even a Beetle
    * Up 4 ‘extras’ per day to take the part of dock workers. Period dress for dock workers was boots, bib and brace overalls, shirt with sleeves rolled up and cloth cap (see photo below) so this might suit members of heritage railway locomotive departments.

The event is due to run over three days: 27 May 3pm to sunset, 28 May 6pm to Sunset and 6 June 3pm to Sunset, and you would be asked to be available for a reasonable proportion of the session for which you volunteer, but you, or your vehicle does not need to be available for all three days. A variety across the three days would be an advantage. The idea is to to pose the vehicles to create a series of dockside scenes with the railway . It is probably beneficial if the vehicles are local to Bristol so the journey isn't too far so if you are the proud owner or know of such an owner would would be interested please get in touch as below

No payment is offered, although a diesel / petrol allowance will be paid for vintage vehicles coming from any distance. You will, however, be provided with copies of images from the event, which it is to be hoped will be a unique souvenir.

@Robin White has very kindly offered to coordinate this so if you are able to help, please contact Robin , for the vehicles and extras in the first instance. Robin215white@btinternet.com or 07710 336 807

Many thanks to Robin and all in advance for any assistance you can offer

If you are interested in attending the event as a participant all the details can be found here
