My dad has just come home from his commute (from Nottingham) and has said he saw Cromwell at Dereham.

Looking at the times still no indication of tender first or diesel hauled (OC on the back) between Norwich and Lowestoft. Just says reverse.
Also noticed a few stop start at stations on the East Suffolk line. Maybe due to fit in with single line sections? Weather now looking better for Saturday.

Sorry, the info I have to hand doesn't make that clear. I suspect it will be diesel hauled Norwich to Lowestoft with 70013 on the back. It will probably be top-and-tailed all day, but I'm not sure. The ECS is no longer going from/to Dereham, but will be berthed at Crown Point.

Thanks for that David. Reading between the lines, there seem to be a few problems with 70013 and the MNR as they are no longer running there Sunday or stabling the loco between Mainline trips. However the goalposts keep moving. Watch this space.

As said on the other topic it seems to be due to timing issues.

I think you are right as the train has to be dragged out of Liverpool Street to Hackney Wick to turn on the triangle,70013 will take the train to Ilford for servicing, then the diesel will have to drag the train back to Liverpool Street.Timing at Ilford for servicing is very tight. Colin.

47760 was on a Carnforth - Narridge ECS move today, so assume that.

Great to watch 70013 cross Cromwell Road at the top of Beccles Bank this morning. Going very well on the single line section.Loads of photographers should have some great shots.

The lineside was heaving, very good trip with timing being excellent all trip.
Great going up Beccles bank, I was the one looking like a burglar.
Pics etc later including naughty tresspassers, I have a High viz so I'm above the law.

If this trip runs again it is a must for everyone!

P.s Cromwell is hauling empty stock to Norwich from Lowerstoft and is due back in at 11.pm tonight.

Saw her at Brentwood on the climb up the bank, outstanding even though the driver sounded like he shut a little as he went though the station? spot on time as well.
Couple of shots from video clip I took, not very good quality.

Glad you had a great trip dace83. Like you say Beccles Bank fantastic and the usual trespass problem, but this has been covered so many times before. When will people learn they are jeopordising main line steam with there actions. Probably when its too late.
Roll on the next circular trip around East Anglia. =D>
