Black 5 44806 has been running with Stanier 4000 gallon tender no.9776 (this tender is usually with 45491) while 44806's tender (number 9852) was under repair. I have heard though that the hire of 9776 has finished and tender 9664 from 45428 is being used at present with 44806. Can anyone confirm this and say what date the change took place?

I have asked for an account on this website but they haven't accepted me yet (have been waiting a few days). As the link just takes me to the sign in page could you paste the actual message?

    Thanks

45428 came out of traffic at the end of October. From February half term running 44806 has used 45428s tender. Work on 44806s original but new bodied tender continues. Its not clear if that tender will be used with 5428 when it comes back into traffic following a very swift "10 year" overhaul, as 44806 is due out of traffic at the end of 2017 for overhaul

I think that you can be certain that 5428 will regain its tender when it re-enters traffic as it has all the necessary electronics (GSM-R etc) for running to Whitby which 4806's new tender does not have (yet!).

Is that meaning that right now 44806 can go to Whitby? or is it that the TOPS information on the system is for 45428 and thus it has to be both parts of the engine that count for it to go mainline?

No and yes. However, there's a lot more to going main line than bits of electrical kit.

I was thinking exactly that. I know theres an awful lot and thus would have been very surprised if it could have gone.
