Would anyone be able to say what's like to be the duty loco at Swanage between Tuesday and Thursday next week ?, I'm likely to pay a visit on one of those days but can't find anything online about what's likely to turn up at Norden.

Well it wont' be 80104 currently at Corfe without boiler. Manston will be coming back from the West Somerset during the week ( ends up at Bishops Lydeard on Sunday evening according to timetable).

I suggest you send a PM to Rumpole.

I would anticipate 6695 next week; the other option would be 34028 as that is also in traffic this coming weekend, but I suspect that is more likely to be spare.

Thanks for that, was hoping for the 56XX or 30053.

Its unlikely to be 30053 as its getting a bit close to being due a washout, and we need to keep a couple of steaming days left for next weekend.

Just to confirm my previous thoughts, it is 6695 this week.

And another change! 34028 replaces 6695 for the next few days, in light of a couple of minor issues discovered with 6695.

Any idea what's likely to be out and about over the forthcoming Bank Holiday weekend? Thanks!

30053 planned to be on the steam service, with 33202 on the diesel diagram Saturday and Monday, and 33111 on the diesel diagram on Sunday.

There will be a Bulleid out on the Sunday lunch dining train, but I'll have to update that closer to the time.

For those interested in something different, there will also be an SWT 159 unit down on Saturday working a charter from Waterloo (arrive Swanage 11:58, depart 16:26); the branch being used for exactly the purpose it was built for...

Once again, thanks Rumpole! I shall definitely be along - just a matter of deciding which day! Saturday sounds amazing....

I'll be another customer on the railway on Saturday thanks to Rumpole.
It makes all the difference when you know which locomotives are rostered. <BJ>

Hope everyone's enjoying a nice sunny day by the seaside! Just to update my previous post and confirm that the loco on the Sunday lunch train will be 34028.

As I'm staying in the area one more night, I'm wondering whether one of the visiting Bulleids will be in action tomorrow, Monday 3rd April?

As I will be on duty with extended family, I thought it time to bring this thread back to life.
Inevitably, I’d be grateful for a steer as to likely loco when SR awakes from its short slumber this weekend!

As you wish to 'bump' a five year old thread might I suggest the Mods retitle it to something along the lines of Swanage Railway Rostered Locos or similar

I would love to know what is likely to be working this weekend, I have just been granted compassionate leave from family commitments... Thanks!

Well the tank appears to have hit an issue this morning (as I discovered when I walked up in the rain to get some hopefully atmospheric steam effects) and the 10:00 service was hauled by D6515. 257 has smoke coming out of it but not sure if that is for planned use or not, as it has been steamed but not used a couple of times recently.
    Update
The SR Twitter update says broken spring (FTR failure) they hope to have fixed by close of play today.
