Reports elsewhere indicate that the speed restriction on Eardington Bank has been lifted following finishing off work by p-way.
    That should help time keeping.

Time keeping is easy. The 15mph restriction made very little difference, unless you were already very late.

Whilst I bow to your knowledge from the footplate, I know of quite a few guards journals which suggest otherwise.

Given its length that slack at 15mph rather than 25mph did not cost more than one or two additional minutes at most. Hardly an excuse for significant poor time keeping!

No doubt, mate. Some can, some can't; some will, some won't. You won't find any guard's journals of trips behind me, that reflect late - running problems - unless someone else caused them, or the engine broke, which has happened very rarely, thank the Lord. :)

And as one restriction is lifted, another is put in place. This time, movement has been detected at Sterns (what a surprise...) and it's 5mph for the time being.

Sterns TSR reported to have been removed 14th May

Phots on Bridgnorthsvr station Facebook page of some tree clearance where it is hoped, subject to planning permission, to put the new catering/shop building

Two bouts of late running in the past week:
Thursday when a large tree was blocking the line in area of Country Park Halt. Service running up to 2 hours late but recovered to only 20 mins by end of service.
Saturday (yesterday) when 43106 failed leaving Hampton Loade with a broken snifter valve. Fortunately 2857 had swapped with 34053 earlier and thus was available to rescue and take the train. Service out by up to 45 mins, last service train 25 late in Kiddy.
