    A friend went up to London from Didcot today and comments "I thought this morning that it looked like being the Scot after all for tmrw as she was in steam outside 81C this morning. That said, the WC is outside raising steam this afternoon, so maybe the Scot failed the FTR. Anyone's guess..." We're still none the wiser

    Simmering with 12 on and a 47 on the back. Standard is on the front for the journey to Minehead - bad luck for those in the posh seats!

    With the greatest of respect to what you may have been told, if the load is 12 and there is also a Class 47 on the back, it is highly unlikely that all it will do is push the train onto Grosvenor Bridge. That said, apart from Savernake it is fairly flat.

    No noise at either Theale nor Kintbury from the back. Both times the Scot sounding good and going well.
