It was due to be Royal Scot, anyone know the reason for the change?

Steam on at Hanwell pretty much guarantees diesel assistance. Maybe 46100 is still being put through it's winter maintenance ?

Maybe no diesel? There's a path back from Hanwell to Southall after it's arrived in the loop: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50646/2017/03/07/advanced

34046/052 races towards it's water stop at Newbury Racecourse, as it passes the gallery near Aldermaston station.

And there we were, after the 45699 on Saturday unexpectedly with no diesel, all hoping and expecting the diesel to potter off to Southall. Those hopes are certainly shattered!!

Maybe @meltonnorth has listened and had a word with WCRC where Steam Dreams leave us only dreaming of Steam. RTC appear to be getting their act together and rebuilding confidence. Steam Dreams may go the same way as RTC were if they do not open up.

Possibly there for ETH? It was cold today and the diesel was only ticking over when it passed me

The SD set is not dual braked, so there are unlikely to be any vacuum braked diesels nearby if required. Over the last year only 2 SD day trips and part of a multiday trip have run without a diesel.
