Bit of Scotsman action as the regulator gets cranked open half way down Byfleet & New Haw station. Appears it was then diverted onto the down ML looking at the feather on the signal. Unusual for a Guildford bound service

My attempt at a shot of the crawl through Purley Oaks tonight - clear signals, exactly on time and the slow run past did at least give me a chance at getting a photo! My apologies for the grain/blurriness/(insert other issue here!)...

That is because the list of gauging restrictions for this loco is mind-boggling, and one of them is a 'Prohibit' on the down slow line through West Byfleet. Hence the switch to the FL at B&NH and switch back to the SL at Woking.

Long time since I was at B&NH ... seem to recall being half blinded by the arcs from a 4-REP in the rain :)

Does anyone have details of the incident at Windmill Bridge junction when a wrong route (Selhurst) was offered and apparently taken before halting? A reversal to obtain the correct (Crystal Palace) route was apparently required.

Very nice - I have yet to be able to catch 60103 doing any significant work at all - on this occasion the climb to Betchworth summit (opposite my house) was almost silent! Did you employ an 'extra' to use the BT 'phone box at Chilworth?!

Seeing as there's a repeat run tomorrow can the title of this thread be changed to cover 6th and 9th rather than someone start a new one?

Yeah, I figured as much, it crawled through WB slow down (it has a nasty left right round the platform ) last time out, I looked for clearance issues last time it crawled through, and it looked fine to me. PITA to get a slower train out into the fast down and back again before Woking, the Fast EMU had to slow on the single yellow.

Thanks! She could be heard quite some way off at Chilworth, but I thought I could also hear a little assistance from the rear through my headphones as it approached (but out of sight). I must confess, I haven't seen anyone use a phone box in a long, long time, and this was a set up... a friend offered to be my extra for this shot!

I was at Byfleet & New Haw tonight and she was routed for the slow so came to a halt, signal to red, then corrected and off she went

Went to Shalford tonight. A big crowd for her visit again. A large cloud of smoke from the "generator" at the rear heralded it's approach from under the road bridge and it was making a fair old noise when the train departed. Still, it was good to stand on the footbridge and watch the fire from Scotsman's belly illuminating her exhaust as she headed off up the bank to Chilworth. A mixture of sound from the A3 and the "generator" at the rear. I didn't bother with video but took some pictures which I will put up at the weekend.

Wondered why it was a tad late at WB. They seem to make an awful lot of signal cockups with FS

Where were all the crowds everyone keeps on about? Just me and AN Other.
