coming back to Coast to Coast tour, RTC website changed now to show Galatea in charge, which fits with notwork Fails rules of nothing larger than a Jubilee

    http://www.railwaytouring.net/uk-day-trips/coast-to-coast-express

The “Coast to Coast Express” is a day trip by special train travelling from Liverpool to Scarborough and back, thus linking the Irish Sea with the North Sea. The journey includes some spectacular scenery crossing the Pennines and the option of visiting either York or Scarborough. The train will be hauled by 45699 Galatea.
At around 06:20 the “Coast to Coast Express” will leave Liverpool Lime Street, hauled by 45699 Galatea. It will stop to pick up further passengers at Runcorn, Northwich, Atrincham and Stockport.
We continue through Stalybridge Station, famous for retaining its original buffet, and then climb into the Pennines passing through Standedge Tunnel, one of the longest in the UK. We descend to Huddersfield, then follow the route of the old Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway to Wakefield Kirkgate. Our train heads through Castleford to York where our steam locomotive takes on water. Passengers may leave the train at York or continue to Scarborough.

Is it not an option for these Scarborough and York trips to go elsewhere.. ?
Maybe cancelling them is not just to the steam ban, but lack of bookings ?

Officially cancelled on RTC website. I think this issue might have ramifications for a few other trips heading into the 'North Eastern Region' that are already in the pipeline. It will be interesting to see whether the ban is lifted at all.
