Can anyone help me ? I have a heavy cast metal die/mould and was wondering if it has anything to do with the railway.
The maker of the die is W Dowler & Sons.
Any information would be appreciated. 20160424_184928.jpg 20160424_184941.jpg

I believe Dowlers may now be owned by Firmins, who still make badges & buttons etc. http://www.firminhouse.com/ I had a chat with a Firmins rep several years ago who was hoping to get an order from my employer. He said they still held the moulds/patterns/designs etc of just about everything they'd ever made, going back to Napoleonic times (we didn't go back that far, but he'd dug out a sample of a badge produced for us 30 years previously).
