    Afternoon,

Is anyone from the NYMR able to speculate as to which locos are likely to be working on Tuesday and Wednesday? Obviously this would all be subject to the usual, but if anyone has any info it'd be much appreciated :)

    Thanks

They list the locos working on the web site front page. Can't comment on how accurate that is though.

It will certanly be some of the loco's from that list, as they are the only loco's fit to run at the minute.

Tuesday and Wednesday are green timetable and that theoretically requires 4 steam locos. However, of those listed, only 825 is passed for EVL services so there will be some swapping around and the diesel might be out to play. There's a possibility that 75029 might be back in traffic by the time of your visit, which will give two EVL locos and things might just go according to the plan, for a change.

May see you around! I'll be back over on Wednesday walking down the track from Goathland to Grosmont to see 76079 arrive whilst catching a few service trains in action :)
Just being there today, great day as usual :)

Well I don't have a lineside permit for the NYMR but I'll be around somewhere both days, probably on the trains one day and around Darnholm/Beck Hole/Moorgates the other, weather permitting :)

There's also a footplate experience course running on these days so that is another loco LE Gro-Goath as required.

Thanks for that bit of information Steve, do these normally run in the path of the trains which miss?
Also if not, will the signalman know on the morning as to guide line times?

The FootEx normally sneaks paths between trains. It is only running Gros-Goath and it is fairly easy to squeeze in a few LE movements. There are no set times for these as to some extent it depends on how those on the experience get on and what they want to do. The driver in charge will play it by ear and liaise with the signalman/control. Some are more cautious than others in considering potential disruption of the timetable. It will usually go in one direction immediately the down train gets to Grosmont, though, which is about 10-15 minutes past the hour. I've managed to sneak a there and back in in the time available before now but mostly it is just one way in each slot.
I note from the NYMR website that the DMU is now running on the Tuesday in some of the spare paths so that will also have an effect on things.

No I do not currently volunteer
Currently looking like tomorrow will be:

    Ex Pickering:

    09:00: D7628 to Grosmont, 825 to Whitby
    10:00: DMU (additional)
11:00: 6619 or 45212 (not sure which ended up at Pickering tonight - didn't notice what my train passed at Goathland).

    Ex: Grosmont

    10:30: 45212 or 6619.

I believe there may also be the Footplate Awareness, which is the Grosmont to Goathland type.

75029 was on test this morning after cylinder work and turning of pony truck tyres. 63395 was in traffic today but is due a waste-out. 60007 is on annual insurance cold exam, 76079 expected imminently, 30926 completing winter boiler repairs (was awaiting materials but this should have arrived by now) and 43965 awaiting a replacement spring.

Enhanced Green Timetable Tuesday, almost certainly Wednesday and possibly Thursday (crews permitting).

Can i just ask? If these footplate courses are steam, what's going to be used if only 825, 45212 and 6619 are the available steam engines (assuming 75029 isn't running till later on in the week).

The FootEx will probably take a steam loco and the service train will take a diesel thingy. Just my guess, though.

D6700 should be moving to NRM Locomotion at Shildon for their diesel gala 18/19 April, I presume it is just a short stay
