Picking up Heritage Railway earlier it says that Britomart will be running through the old horse tunnel at Grosmont.

It is a wonderful lineup and a not to be underestimated event. I remember 7822 putting some stunning performances when she last visited in 2011. The fact that the newly mainlined 4mt 76084 shall be doing Whitby turns is important and doing some double heading with 76079 many people will be pleased.

Beware if taking in beer with the steam. My plan A and B are stuffed on checking hours. The Beck Hole pub thinks it is winter so has very limited hours, then the new micro pub on Whitby station closes 16:00 on Sundays. I try to support local enterprises when visiting NYMR but they don't make it easy.

Good job it's the NYMR beer festival then, plenty of ales to be had on the Gresley buffet and at Levisham and Goathland stations!

Narrow gauge track laid through the foot tunnel last night and Britomart craned in to position. All set for 3 days in the Welsh valleys!

61264 taking 2807's duty. We passed the 28 at Newbridge, seemingly cold at 9am. 45428 doing the Whitby/Battersby turn.

Something special happened today when 76079 & 76084 were paired together. I don't know when was the last time two Std 4 2-6-0's ran together but I reckon it must be at least 50 years ago.

A very enjoyable day on the Moors today, a real good show, great lineup and timetable; time keeping was generally good to early at times. The narrow gauge through the tunnel was a great idea. Shame about 2807 but didn't spoil the day, enjoyed the B1 in her place. Videos and pictures to follow later on the week.

2807 still sat at Newbridge (looked cold) at 6.30 this evening.
