Day 1 seeemed to go okay. The timetable slipped a bit a couple of times only by a few minutes , but they manged to claw it back again. At the end of the day there was a problem with the GWR pannier tank which kept losing its vacuum and so coming to a halt outside of Holt station blocking the line. The WD dragged everything back and took over, all of which took time and I guess 30 minutes or so was lost, but this was at the very end of the day so not too many people were inconvenienced. No news as to if the Pannier tank will be out to play today. Hopefully it was nothing major.

What was the official attendance like compared to other years ? To my eye despite great weather the numbers of visitors seemed like they were down a little? Some years I have had to stand on some trains, but this year there seemed to be plenty of seats. There were some stirring performances up the bank particularly the double headers and I enjoyed the gala as much as usual.

I didn't go in the end, 37716 on the Yarmouths distracted me somewhat.

Visted Friday PM and all day Saturday. Travelled Saturday morning since the weather foreast was for cloud!
The suburbans are lovely. Pity the Y14 was spare for all 3 days , rather than a diferent spare each day.

I don't think so. The timetables were still online suggest you look at them. I doubt there are many who were there all 3 days.

Paul some nice shots, especially the ones adjacent to the signals that also has the sign for The Pheasant Hotel. Is that Holt as it was the only location I did not recognise?

Thanks. Yes it is Holt. I met someone I know from photo charters earlier in the afternoon, and he advised it he was going there ( he had been there on charters). Since my car was parked there I thought I'd give it a go.
