I am happy to report that at 2.35 on Monday the 19th of January Tom Rolt started its proving run after being in the 'shop' all year after discovering a broken stay, the chance to look at the motion and the rest of the Loco while they were at it was taken and it compleated its run to Quarry Siding and back by 4.30 after a succsesful trip it is now back in traffic just in time for hauling a charter Wedding Train on Saturday \:D/ well done to the work staff at pendre =D> =D>

Good stuff - I'm looking forward to the charter on Saturday. All being well, the first public services with No 7 are likely to be the Feb Half Term service from 14th Feb - keep an eye on http://www.talyllyn.co.uk/locos/rosters.jsp for loco allocations!

    Cracking stuff! Many thanks.
In my opinion it's a great example of how to re-build and adapt locomotive and at the same time, actually improve on it’s appearance.

Please don't get too excited! The boiler has been away to have some broken stays replaced and the lower part of the outer firebox renewed after finding some wastage. During 2008 a few jobs have been tackled here and there; subtle modifications to steam and air plumbing, the sandbox has been added (but not yet in working order) and a fair bit of paintenance has taken place too. But otherwise the loco returns in pretty much the same mechanical condition as it was in November 2007 when it was withdrawn from traffic.

Photo of said loco out on test on Friday 23rd January. The following day the loco successfully hauled a wedding special for 155 guests, and is likely to be used on February half term services.
