May have a bit of a problem running double deckers, as per the computer image, with wires for single deckers?

Works well enough in Blackpool Ralph.
But it'll all be down to the height of the OHL i guess.

Yes in Blackpool it was built for double deckers so the wires are high, the single deckers have the tower for the pickup arm. Manchester wires, I do not believe, are high enough? Someone may like to prove me wrong though.

The article actually says it will be a new line so wire height will not be an issue unles it crosses the existing lines.

lol, If you read the press release it doesnt actually say it will be sharing Metrolinks lines, indeed it says the opposite, these will be new tracks from the museum which will only meet Metrolink points

So under the present circumstances can you actually see a new line being built solely for vintage trams. :-k

wire hight are a stardard hight on roads, have alook a how high the pants are on metrolink, other wise how would buses hgvs etc fit under! Mosi are after 6 ex blackpool trams which would then be rebodyed to look like (old) manchester trams, blackpool ment to be getting rid of 20 odd trams. due to having new ones on order.
also 1st of new metrolink trams ment to be turning up 16 july ish...

It's now part of the hugh undergound access to all the shops, big enough for the constant flow of artics making deliveries. Been there myself several time times delivering on motor bike and by car.

    Interesting info here

    http://www.tramwayinfo.com/Tramframe.ht ... Dimens.htm

Standard height in UK was 20ft - EEC regs place it at a minimum of 17ft now.
