Miniature 'Manors' at Kent & East Sussex

    The largest steam locomotive ever to grace the Kent & East Sussex Railway will be joined by some of the smallest when No. 7822 Foxcote Manor is displayed alongside its miniature counterparts on May 14.

    At least four 5in-gauge ‘Manors’ will be on display at Bodiam station on May 14, including Nos. 7808 Cookham Manor, 7810 Draycott Manor, 7816 Frilsham Manor and 7817 Garsington Manor, courtesy of the 1/12th Scale Manor Locomotive Appreciation Group.

    There will also be displays of other restoration projects, including the new-build GWR ‘Night Owl’ No. 4709.

    Foxcote Manor is visiting the KESR courtesy of the Foxcote Manor Society and will be there throughout May, where it will also take part in the railway’s ‘1940s Weekend’ on May 20/21 and ‘Made in Swindon’ event on May 29.

    Tickets for the ‘Manors in Miniature’ are available through the railway’s website: www.kesr.org.uk. Passengers on the day can receive a 10% discount on the production of a model engineering club membership card.
