    They've changed the shed plate.

Here is a picture of the fly shunting of the QMB on Saturday

They did - 82F Weymouth, I did grin when I saw what was going on Friday morning! :)

Like the shot Steve, thankfully it QMB wont be flying solo too often.......... Hope the shunters took care of the brakes..................... last thing we need is for that to be back in the yard for some TLC, given what got shunted into it this week!

I saw another example of slip shunting after the Gronk arrived at Alresford on Saturday. The brake van was propelled through the station prior to the departure of the train back to Ropley.

I'm flummoxed as to why its taken a gentle prompt for folks to say something about the shunters having some fun at Alresford until now - I was expecting it to have been a talking point by the Friday night!

Being really pedantic, with 76017 giving it a shove in the cutting that is loose shunting rather than fly shunting; fly shunting is the process of hauling vehicles then uncoupling them on the move.

Finally had time to upload my video from the first day of this excellent event which features The Pines Express and a spirited run behind 45379 from Alton to Medstead:

There's some really good videos of the gala uploaded here, so I thought I'd add my effort too.

As its a Black 5 I suspect that 82F was intended to refer to Bath Green Park, a former Midland shed, not Weymouth which was ex GW. Weymouth was once 82F until it transferred to the SR in the mid to late 50's. At the same redrawing of regional boundaries the northern part of the S&D came under the WR and Bath lost its 71G code in favour of 82F - and guess what? -Weymouth became 71G.

Now you're just being picky!

Any way, my point of reference was my (reprinted) 1955 Ian Allen Loco's & shed book ;) so I'll stick with Weymouth & why not! :)
