    Hello everyone,

The annual steam festival will be held at Maldegem, Belgium, on Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5[SUP]th[/SUP] of May , 2013.
Special attractions this year will be the visit of 0-6-0t locomotive No 507 from the Train 1900 Railway in Luxembourg. This loco was built in Belgium to a German design by “Société anonyme Energie” in 1946 as their number 481 and spent its working life at Zeebrugge coke works.
This loco is passed for main line running and has a detachable Prussian tender for extra water and coal. She will run to Maldegem under her own steam and, while in the area.

Another attraction will be the pairing of Maldegems tiny “St Leonard 0-4-0t “Yvonne” of 1893 with two four wheel ex SNCV standard gauge tram trailers of 1894. These will make a couple of trips to Balgerhoeke or Eeklo each day.

Maldegem’s three other servicable loco’s, Avonside 0-4-0st “FRED”, La Meuse 0-6-0t “BEBERT” and Polish “Ferrum” 0-6-0t “GENERAL MACEK” will also be in service. This locomotive previously worked on the Northhampton Steam Railway in England.
An interesting program, similar to previous years, has been devised. An intensive service will run to Eeklo on the standard gauge.
On the narrow gauge line, trains will be operated by the familiar Kerr-Stuart 0-4-0st “PETER PAN” together with 2008 built sister “Jennie” from the Amerton Steam Railway in the UK. On this line, there will also be an intensive service in operation.

The non-rail steam aspect will not be forgotten, and a Stanley steam car and other steam items are planned to attend.
In Maldegem, there will be the usual selection of trade stands, cinema coach, model railways, and passenger carrying live steam track.
For groups from the UK travelling via P&O Ferries from Hull to Zeebrugge, Stoomcentrum
is able to arrange pick up at the Ferry terminal and transfer to and from Maldegem by preserved bus.

For further details, visit the website www.stoomcentrum.be or tel. 003250716852 or info@stoomcentrum.be
To book on the special dieseltrain from Brussels to Maldegem on sunday, visit www.pfttsp.be.

    Greetings

One of our steamloco's La Meuse 0-6-0 T "Bébert" departs Maldegem in the coming week to participate in the "Fete de la vapeur 2013" in the "Baie de Somme". There it will be paired with the KESR-loco "Marcia". See this link
It will be back in time for our steamfestival, though.

One of our guestlocos Energie 0-6-0 507 from the Train1900-railway in Luxemburg is already in Belgium and came by her own means to Zeebrugge after a trip of around 280 miles. In this picture you can see the loco in Zeebrugge together with a vintage tram and a vintage bus. The loco will travel to Maldegem on the 2nd of may.

    Greetings
