    The van behind is a shark; I'm afraid I've no idea what the difference from an oyster is.

    Differences between Oysters and Sharks.
    Weights as stated previously 16t Oyster 20t Shark
    Lengths both 24' 5" Overall
    Both 9' wheelbase
    Verandahs Oyster 3' 3 7/8" / Shark 4' 1 7/8"
    Body Oyster 9' 2" / Shark 8' 2"

    There is a 3rd variant the Cockle with ploughs between the wheels and another totally different one at the KESR
    I believe only 9 Oysters were built 1948 - 49 in 2 lots

    anyone have any idea how many oysters made it to preservation? I've only come accross one,based at the yeovil railway centre
