    Hello,

I had a look at the former railway depot in Long Marston and I've realized that there're still many historic vehicles left over there.
I noticed that vintagecarriagetrust has also list of stored historic vehicles: http://www.cs.vintagecarriagestrust.org/se/results.asp

Obviously many vehicles rot there, but does anyone know what will happen to this railway site (redevelopment?)?
There are even some carriages owned by the Avon valley railway, but don't they want to bring them back home? Are there plans with the DMU's and other carriages over there? Are steam and diesels locos stored in Long Marston depot?

Thank you for many replies in advance

Built as a military storage & distribution depot in 1940, Long Marston was sold off by the MOD Defence Estates in Nov 04 to St Modwen Estates. Currently there is still a rail link from Long Marston to Honeybourne Jct but used only for stock movements I believe. For many years, there have been plans to build on most of the site and I'm pretty sure that Long Marston was one of the sites earmarked as a 21st Century "new town/village". So my guess is that if the stock stored there by private owners isn't moved it will be scrapped. However, I've no idea of the imminence of this, if indeed, it would be the case. St Modwen currently market the site as a "mixed use" site so some of the current occupants may remain. I'm not privy to ground truth so please don't take anything herein as gospel.
There is also some complexity to this situation as the nearby Long Marston Airfield is also slated for housing development.
    The following links might help:

    https://www.flyer.co.uk/houses-to-be-built-on-long-marston-airfield/
    http://www.meonvale.co.uk/

It would appear that the building of a new railway station at Long Marston might happen, who knows?. Of course, there was a railway from Stratford to Honeybourne via Long Marston but that was a long time ago in a land far away.

Your VCT link does not appear to produce any results so one could infer from that outcome that all the stock has already gone or been scrapped.

Yes and no in that order AFAIK, at least for the couple of vehicles there I know about.

PS you can't link to a database search on the VCT, you just get a blank page, but I'm presuming you just searched "Location: Long Marston".

Sry, I see that you can't see a result to my search in vintagecarriagetrust... I thought it would work fine.
Ok, then you'll have here the link for the search and you have to pick only the current location "Long Marston". There'll find the carriages and vehicles obviously left in the former depot.
