Not forgetting that the diesel group were also working in the shed / yard that day. Winterising the type 3, shunting the type 4 into the shed, shunting Austin 1 and 3802's tender to the back of the diesel road for storage.

I was going to get some pictures of all the activity but spent all day throwing bits at 80072.

Thanks for both updates! What is the plan with Austin 1, is it going into storage? Also is there an easy way to donate to the diesel group (I can't spare time, but am happy to try and give some money to help get the 47 back)? I saw the update that they are still wanting financial support but I can't see an easy way to donate on the website? ( maybe somthing to add?)

We have delayed the repairs to 'Austin 1' until funds and labour are available, although its ten year overhaul is not due until 2020.
The diesel group appears to be just a group of Llangollen Railway members who own & work on various diesel locos. Iain might be able to give you more info on this, him being one of them.

Not a lot at the moment. Tubes are slowly going in. There is a view to get the loco finished for next season.

    From 7822 Facebook Page -:

    1. All tubes are now cut to length and work has started on expanding them.
    2. The regulator is fully burnished, oiled and stored.
    3. The smokebox door has been painted with heat resistant black
    4. More cleaning has been done on the wheels ready for painting
    5. The superheater header and regulator housing have been needle gunned
    6. Various studs have been looked over and material ordered to make new

Thanks all! The next working party is on October 24/25 when we really crack on with the tube expanding and paint the wheels

In the loco shed today :-

7822 boiler having small tubes expanded.

6880 having rocker arm brackets fitted.

47xx has acquired its front buffers.

80072 is now complete & is moving to Pentrefelin shed early next week to have its boiler cladding & other minor parts re-painted.

Didn't notice any diesel group members (just in case I get picked up on this !)

They were down the day before doing the 47's bodywork. Sanding and prepping has commenced, a couple of patches have been welded in and work is going on in the background to sort out the refurbished end, and backdate it to original.

Any news on the progress of Foxcote? Is it actually realistic for the Spring gala, as it has been advertised as nearly ready for the last 2 years! What other engines will be running at the gala?

The boiler has successfully passed it's hydraulic test, and is now positioned outside the shed ready for steam tests and insurance inspection. Like any steam loco you can't put a time on things, but the group are aiming for the gala.

7820 and 4566 will be visiting for the gala, starring alongside 5199, 6430, 80072 and all being well 7822.

When was the last time we had br black manors double heading in preservation? I can't remember a time. We are lucky having had two manors for two galas in the last 3 years!

Earlier this year when Dinmore went on holiday to Devon.

Not my video, but if Manors are your thing I'd recomend turning this one up loud! :Singing:

Edit: YRM beat me to it

Only thing is, this time both locos will be in the same livery. 7827 is lined out.

A question if I may Martin; on a visit today (Feb 14) there was an unidentifiable 0-6-0T locomotive under repair. Can you advise which locomotive this was ?
    Many thanks in advance.

Could be either the Kitson (Austin 1) or the austerity from Gwili, Welsh Guardsman I think.

    Unless it's Mr Walton -Binns's No 17.
