Seems to have got to Castleton Hopwood GF and gone no further (unless RTT is having a mare).

Edit - apologies its on the move but around an hour late.

5212 arrivd at Carnforth Steamtown 1636 without a support coach. Presume it will pick up one at Steamtown for the move to Grosmont. Nothing in steam at CS today so looks like the 5 will run solo to the NYMR. HTH, Andrew N

I know I'm being pedantic but it is not a light engine if it has got a coach attached - even Network Rail know the difference and class such a move as 5Zxx as opposed to 0Zxx. Every bit annoying to me as the term "train station" is to others. My problem, I know, but I have to say it.

The thread title could need changing from LE Movements to 5ZXX then ;)

Thread title is quite correct. Yesterday 45212 moved to Carnforth on its own as a light engine (0Zxx). Today it it carried on to Grosmont with coach as an ECS move (5Zxx). The title covers both types of move. You would think the good folks who post on Nat Pres would understand and use correct railway terminology, especially given the moaning that goes on about the press and others getting railway terminology wrong.

    Just saying

My post was a bit of light hearted banter but I get your point. I could be wrong but I always thought ECS was classed as a Engine coaching Stock move rather than loco and coach as loads of folk I know class this as engine and private owners brake (POB ) but like I say it's only what I believe is true :)

I would not want to get too serious about this either, but what we call an engine and POB move is classified as an ECS movement - in other words a train of coaching stock (even if it is only one coach) that is not carrying passengers. On the other hand a LE move involves one or more locomotives coupled together with no stock (not even a POB!) involved at all. Lecture over now!

76084's move from Castleton Hopwood Gf to Carnforth Steamtown showing "cancelled throughout at train operators request." Anyone know why?

Isn't this loco supposed to be going east not west for Saturday's Whitby Flyer so hopefully it's just that the Carnforth move isn't needed?

Yes, but the path was ELR to Carnforth, short break in Steamtown, then Carnforth to York. Nothing else showing ex-ELR today or tomorrow.
