I wouldn't have thought they would have let a 47 out then looped it so soon?

Who knows, possibly a fault with the livery? ;)

No Dalesman next week.....There is a Fellsman but that's fully booked but somehow I doubt if she will be out on that, more likely the Chester Dalesman on the 18th, keeping the first run in house...

WCR says 18th full. So we will be at the mercy of the stewards. I fully agree with everything you say about everything Ralph!

we can but hope, So, the Total of Mainline Registered Merchant Navy's has hopefully doubled today, in this week, a week that has seen 28 back on its old stamping ground, the MHR host 4 Pacific,s 50 years since steam was meant to finish for good on Southern Region.

Pedant mode engaged, hasn't she been mainline registered for a few weeks now after the various test runs?

Correct me if i'm wrong but a loco's mainline certificate does not come into force until she has undergone an light test (engine and brake) and then a loaded test only once these have been ran and the engine passed as fit, and signed off does the certificate become valid, whilst on test, the engine has a temporary permission to test to enable it to run on NR.

Doesn't sound as if it is on top of its game just yet. Perhaps fit the attached to it and it would go better over the S&C?

Doesn't look like its steaming well, steam whisping from places it shouldn't normally, and it sounds off key. Compared to Clan line and other MN's for example.

(and there is some work to be done on finalising that paint job)
