It departs 08.19, slight error crept in there.

I shall be up and above the old Pullman Works at Preston Park to see her leave the station and take the Hove spur, got a nice shot of 44871 from there back last summer. Starting at Hassocks foot crossing before that, then off to the K&ESR!

Wylye valley for me, for the outward trip, near Dilton Marsh for the return, scamper down to a B&B near Crowcombe for a day on the WSR on Sunday, and finally home via the best acoustic music session in Oxfordshire at The Cherry Tree in Steventon. That's what I call a fine weekend. Let's hope the weather and the traffic are kind us all!

She ran :) See she still hasn't got her nameplates on & there still looked to be leaking steam from the air pump/compressor!

It looks highly likely that she's still got persistent problems with her air pump, hence this thread is probably more appropriate to continue discussing her issues rather than in the whats on section.

I guess she had to do yesterdays tour due to the financial implications if she didn't, but surely she can't go on to do the rest of her very hectic schedule over the next couple of months in her current state. Her next tour is a week on Wednesday - can they work on her air pump problem down here or is she going to have to whiz back up to Carnforth?

Necroposting again - what is the current status of this locomotive? I can't find anything. Usual Carnforth secrecy I presume?

Reportedly needs new firebox and somewhere behind 46115, 44932 and 34016 then probably 45699 in the workshop queue.

The best chance 34067 has of being returned to service is if the Boiler from 34073 is used, but saying that, if Tangmere is knackered, we could see 34073 restored using a mixture of 34073's frames and boiler and tangmeres motion. if the frames on 73 need less work . but dont expect it with in 10 years

Given that scenario the best hope for 34067 as a working loco might be a change of ownership?
If 34067 is not to be prioritised, might its air brake equipment be used to equip another in the fleet perhaps?

Images from June from a friend of mine sees 34067 being stripped , air smoothed casing off , pipework disconnected and boiler fittings removed .

I won't second guess but more was removed than to provide bits for 35018. At the request of the photographer concerned I won't share the images

ready for a boiler lift? the boiler from 34073 has been out of the frames for some time, and i would imagine a lot depends on what Carnforth needs out in the next 18 months, with 46115 out, they need another 7 as well as BIL, to act as cover until 46115 returns depending on what tours they expect to run in the next two years, and what motive power they think they will need.

My money would be on 34016 ahead of 67 but 46115 fast tracked ahead of both.

34016 may be in better condition mechanically as its done less mileage than 34067, it has boiler defects a quited crown plate i heard, that will mean a lot of firebox work cutting out and renewing defect material, possibly less work than replacing the whole firebox, but saying that there is a full boiler that potensially can be dropped into 67 when did 34067 have a full bottom end overhaul?

In theory as 34073 moved to Carnforth before the arrival of both 34016 and retirement of 34067 the logic would be to work on 73's boiler for 16 and then 16's boiler ready for 34067.

Adapting the boiler from 73 for use on 16 may not be such a major problem either and 67 is increasingly an oddball within that fleet - high maintenance?
Having 44932 available again sooner rather than later would also be of major benefit.
There is no shortage of choices, nice headaches to have though.
