957's boiler ticket expires in early 2013, it is intended to repaint 1300 this winter into a different livery (yet to be decided).
So if the two were to be matched up in identical L&Y liveries the window of opportunity to do so is basically late September to January 2013. I'm game not sure whether the owners of 957 or the KWVR are though? As things stand i don't see this opportunity occuring again for a very long time.

Surely the Lanc.y tank is nt far off now, but again whos to say what livery that will come out in. not sure off the top of my head that one made it into BR Black as it went 'industrial' at some point

LMS black would be nice. The LMS seems to be very under-represented in the livery stakes at the moment.

Now then, that does sound like a good livery for "81".

1300 was seen as 12322 with LMS on the tender at the Avon Valley Railway in the late 90's, unfortunately I can't however find any photo's that I'm able to post to prove this.

I would like to see the pairing of the 3f with the 2f in matching L&Y livery and in steam whilst its still possible, although I'm sure 1300 will look fantastic in whatever livery she sports!! Great to hear she's back in action!

Does anyone know why the overhaul of 752 doesn't seem to be progressing ?

My guess is that the Boiler is at Rileys (? )and that the work needed by Flying scotsman has had a bit of a knock on (or in this case back) effect ?

It is understood from reliable sources involved with the overhaul that initial steaming and movements have been successful, in the presence of examiners and vab personnel. Congratulations to those responsible and look forward to exciting times ahead.

1300 passed its steam test last week and made a successful appearance in disguise on Saturday and Sunday at the RSR Friendly engines weekend. Its back in its box now until the steam gala on the 15/16th September.

Thanks for the update 3855. I saw a picture of her, complete with face and Basil nameplate, in tonight's Lancashire Evening Post. I'll be there for the Gala
