A question. If the field & overflow field at Toddingtom are OK, why is there a statement in red on the website saying
"Please note: parking at Toddington will be extremely limited." ?

Do say hello if you're visiting C+W, I'll probably be there, possibly doing Chemistry revision watching the world go by!

    Hello all

    A few photos from Sunday

Thanks to all at GWSR for putting on a good show. The railway looked very busy in the sunshine (the ice cream van at Toddington was doing a roaring trade!)

    Hope you enjoy them

    Stan

A set of my images from the Sunday of this gala are now online at my Zenfolio website at: - http://mickrogers.zenfolio.com/p756319782
Another excellent day at the GWSR's annual steam fest, despite the non-appearance of the top billed guest locomotive, so my congratulations to all at the railway.

Thanks to the GWSR for a great day on Saturday - despite the coolish weather in the middle of the day it was very busy.
Just one question - can anyone supply a copy of the working timetable for the day with headcodes etc?
There were a couple of workings I saw that I couldn't trace in the timetable?

We had a great day despite the weather. Thanks to the crew on 4270 for the visit to the footplate at Cheltenham. We also enjoyed the narrow gauge line.

Great stuff! Thanks for posting this. I attended on Saturday (also went to the Broadway Station Open Evening on the Friday) but had to get back up north on Saturday evening so missed this spectacle. Good to see 76017 in action too. 76077 is still waiting so let's see some action in that area. (I understand there are plans to proceed with its restoration soon.)

My footage from the Saturday and Sunday of the gala. The highlight for me has to be 1450 shuttling up and down the northern extension with Chaffinch, as evidenced by the fact that she takes up over a third of the video :p

My video and some photos from the event on Saturday and Monday! As always the railway put on a good show, even if the weather didn't play ball all the time, which ultimately result in curtailing my plans on the Monday in favour of staying dry on the trains after being soaked in the rain at Chicken Curve and Gotherington!

Thanks David Likes Trains. Some lovely shots there. The last one in particular, with double headed 35006 and 76017, captures 2 things in my opinion: 1. the beauty of the GWSR line and its views, especially at this time of year, and 2. the reason why resident 76077 should be brought back from a kit of parts asap. I have heard, however, that there has been no movement on starting restoration of 76077, despite the GWSR being anxious to assist. Only what I've heard, so couldn't confirm officially.
