The locomotive is looking more like a locomotive!

The saddle tank has been lined.
First boiler test due within the next few weeks.

    Good news.

I'm curious, are the tanks supposed to be lined, or even lettered?

    Hello,
Sorry, I meant the inside of the tank has been lined....to stop any future leaks!

I must learn to be more precise!

That's what I thought you meant. Honestly, the paint/livery obsession is getting worse...

    hello
as to what colour to paint the locomotive......
there were rumours that it would be painted Port Talbot Black!.......
However back to GWR colours....which will add to the considerable overhaul bill....£200K plus.
To hire the locomotive you need to get in contact with SVR Engineering.
There is quite an art to fire/drive this little beastie.....!
I do wonder what the loco would look like fully lined out.........;)

Not half as big as the bill would be to return her to a Port Talbot era appearance I suspect. Cab/bunker/shorten frames/safety valves/smokebox door are the obvious ones aren't they?

According to GWW the original Port Talbot livery was lined out chocolate, which would certainly be unusual.

Any chance of getting 813 and 1501 both in NCB livery together? :)

The rods have been machined and fitted to the locomotive.
Photographs on FB yesterday afternoon showed in Locomotive in steam.

    Possible mechanical testing imminent!
