Fair cop - I may not have scrolled down far enough, or the link has been added - more likely the former. However, I'd have expected to find it in the top pull-downs too, maybe under 'more info' but a 'support us' tab would be better?

FR engines were probably painted green up until 1883 when the GWR arrived in Blaenau. So James Spooner was most likely green until it gained a full cab. Reverting to maroon there after. The style would not be too dissimilar to that carried by EofM. Of course a lot of that is a best guess from black and white photos. However who knows if the new James Spooner will look like the old one at any point in it's life. So you can paint it any colour you like.

Welsh Pony is being restored to its final condition which represents a period from around 1915 to 1940. Up until the 1928 it seems to still carry the lined Maroon livery and pictures from the 20s show this well. In the 1930s it is supposedly repainted blue. The company records show an order for "Crystal Palace Blue" intended for Princess so it most likely this went on Welsh Pony. It was overhauled in the late 20s finally emerging early in 1930. Photos show it painted a dark colour with a simpler lining scheme after the overhaul. However some photos around 1933 -4 show it in bright sky blue looking colour. It seems the most likely scenario is that the blue faded rather rapidly and was replaced with green probably around 1934-5 when it was re-tubed.

Merddin Emrys is in the paint shop being painted in the lighter shade of maroon currently worn by Taliesin and Palmerston for those who are interested.

Why have all the Ffestiniog services been cancelled today? I've seen a post about it on Facebook but no reasoning.

What was it though? It must've been pretty bad to put the entire FR out of operation for a day.

The dead silence on what caused the cancellation is a tad worrying?

I hear it was caused by an invasion of diesel loving squirrels who wanted no more steam locos

Because of course if there is a problem to be resolved the top priority should always be keeping NP updated...?

"Dork"? Not really warranted. Keep it civil, please.

It is odd, the F&WHR are usually very open but suddenly trains are cancelled for a day and no reason whatsoever is given anywhere. Just 'trains are cancelled' and 'they will run again as normal tomorrow'. It's unusually secretive.

It had a very brief story (as I recall, I now get service unavailable!) to note there had been a big storm that had resulted in temporary closure of the FR, but WHR services had continued to run.
