so the trip with 70013 looks like being the last one, but at least it will now set the backers of the line with the challenge to save it, no doubt there will be those, who would welcome the lines closure (the cover everything in concrete brigade) but with the shelving of the so called master plan at least there will be a chance , ,but with a council who seem to be attracted by big names, we will have our work cut out , unless there is a change of plan by the developers
    but more pressing is:
what sort of cost is network rail going to want for the line
just how much track renewall/ re balasting is needed to make the line usable on a daily/weekly basis if the association was to be able to take over maintainance
can a comprimise be made with mr DeHaans backers that would allow for the railway to be retained should the plans be un shelved
things like the question of engines, rolling stock facilities are not important at the moment, but knowing several members are involved with other railways, it is clear that this will be easy to deal with, given good will

As this will almost certainly be the last run will 70013 be wearing The Golden Arrow gear i.e. Flags on the lamp brackets, Arrows on the Smoke Deflectors? It would be nice to see this in a more authentic location as I only saw her sister 70000 carrying the Golden Arrow trimmings at Didcot!

Passengers in four of the coaches have been requested to give up their seats in order that locals can have a trip up the bank. In which case as a pedestrian, how long to reach a good viewing spot after leaving the station (assuming there will be room?

The harbour quayside is 5 - 10 minutes away from the station.

You'll have no problem getting to the harbour, space might be the issue, that said on the 'last' tour with 34067 in 2008 we had no problem getting a spot.
