Didcot will be having three steam days over the Bank Holiday weekend but Monday looks quite special. Firefly, Railcar 22 and ROD5322 will be operating over the three days but on Monday, 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley will arrive around noon to be stabled there for a couple of weeks. Quite an eclectic mix of motive power.

The website says that SNG will be posed outside the loco shed for the duration so let's hope they position a few GWR locos in the vicinity as well.

Just in case anyone is planning on going there to see the 53xx, as far as I'm aware it won't be running this weekend, instead 3822 will be taking its place.

Unless Baldric or someone knows different?

I believe 60007 is staying until 6th June, before doing the Steam Dreams tour to Chester.

As it so happens I will be firing ?3?22 on Saturday, I will find out which when I cycle down to the shed, hopefully it will be the one with a fire in it! When I saw 5322 on Tuesday it looked reasonably complete, but with still a few tools around, so I would not guarantee either way.

I will be making a long overdue visit to Didcot on Sunday. 5322 or 3822, as long as it's GWR I'm not fussed!

    Cheers,

    Paul

And as if by magic, the website roster now says 3822!

Next time we run the 53 it might actually go chuff chuff chuff chuff, instead of chuff CHUFF chuff chuff. :-# Hopefully...

    Have a good weekend.
