    We are restoring an LMS brake van ,which has a paint date and depot code ,still shown on the underframe ,
    does anyone know more about the codes ,and out of interest which depot /workshop painted this one ,the code is 2055 , would be pleased if someone could let us know .

    I don't know the actual location, but it would seem to be for a location at Carlisle. 2053 was Carlisle Citadel, 2054 was Carlisle New Yard Down Departure Sidings, and 2056 was Carlisle London Road High Yard.

    Thankyou Andy , I would assume 2055 would be something like Carlisle Carriage and Wagon ?
