So the late running TPE delayed the departure of the CCE from Carnforth and not for the first time. And it seems that NR has allowed the CCE to press on and thereby hold up the Glasgow service as on the face of it the Pendo will drop at least ten minutes due to the slower progress of the charter. So NR doesn't always loop steam to get it out of the way.

Indeed I did! Hardly surprising as the CCE barely kept time to Penrith.

I was half expecting to be looped at Tebay, thankfully common sense prevailed.

Just wondered what happened around Barrow as the selection of children waiting to see her through cark were beginning to get a bit fractious.

Arrived in the Barrow area 12 late and the stopper had been let out infront, as several boxes were closed they left Barrow 44 late, arrived at Carnforth 51 late, just not able to make up any time.

Cheers. Makes sense, crew seemed to be trying their best as she was pushing on at Wraysholme Crossing where we saw her.

The stunning dark red sunset made up for the long operational delays that we suffered. Unreal weather today.

Whenever 46115 goes out and performs well I feel good for them becuase in this boiler ticket she has gone through many ups and downs. Yet the will and determination to keep this one going has been nothing short of remarkable. I have been watching many clips of her over the last few day and she does rock from side to side quite a bit on the rail.

Indeed. Far better looped at Penrith than Tebay. Let us not forget, the delay is down to the consistently late running TPE! Maybe NR should have a close look at that.

Agree with that. On Saturday it was late away from Manchester Airport and lost more time around Piccadilly/Oxford Road so by the time it got to the WCML it was already 15 down. It is so consistently a problem I think that West Coast almost has a case for politely reminding NR of the problem and the issues that they face. Let's not forget that in spite of the late arrival at Carlisle, they still managed to service and turn the loco in time for the return.
