    Did these ever see service as ballast drop wagons, either in 'original' state or subsequently modified? I got a wee bit swamped in the info lurking out there on the internet!

    May not be the right type but this week these examples did drop ballast.
    Also to be seen in the Infrastructure blog from the NYMR Civil Engineer.

    Not sure if any restriction has been installed as to how much the doors open but they do give a reasonable spread across the 4ft rather than a deep row from a Seacow etc.

    Aha, many thanks! They look about right. Reading the blog post, you mention them being modified, what sort of mods did you have to do?

    Chaining the doors so they only open so far is what I think has been done.
