Running almost an hour late when I saw her north of Penrith -- don't know why.

Not the best of look today, smoke blew down this morning at Docker. On the return trip this evening at shot at Elsmfield at http://philmetcalfe.fotopic.net/p57631149.html about 60mins down, then the shot i was really going for at Hest Bank, but all the previous trains and 6233 went by at walking pace because of single yellows. Problems around Lancaster i presume. Anyway pic at http://philmetcalfe.fotopic.net/p57631150.html . Better look at llangollen tomorrow i hope.

Had an enjoyable day following the Duchess. Makes a pleasant change to have sunshine & no wind. My contribution http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHip7j_huaM

Please be gentle its the first video I've put together. Sorry about the badly timed appearance of a pendollino.

I understand that the late running was due to congestion at Carlisle because the line north of there was closed for engineering work. So Carlisle station was quite often full of pendos and there was no room for the charters which of course are at the bottom of the priority list. 6233 was not able to get back into the platform until well after the scheduled departure time and was then looped several times on the way back.
