The CVR has a few sections of concrete sleepers which were there when the line was purchased. Mainly from south of Cheddleton to the Consall curves. Another section that the wooden sleepers were replaced a few years ago was south of ConsalL past Podmores Mill so roughly 2.5 miles out of 5.5 miles are concrete.

Not just the cost of replacing timber with concrete but also the labour required to do it. The dozen or so pensioners out on a Wednesday don't have quite the zip that they had when they were younger. Of course if you would like to come over and give us a hand .......................................

CVR have been forced to withdraw the N7 for repairs, and so 33102 will be in-service tomorrow for the commencement of midweek running for the summer.

After doing a linewalk up the Cauldon Line yesterday was rewarded with catching the unloadind of North Staffs carriage No.61 at Froghall. First touchdown on CVR rails, but I wondered if it ever ran on the Churnet Valley line in its original life. This will be on display this weekend on anything goes, along with the next coach to be restored No. 28

Come and see it at close quarters this weekend, as it's to be on display next to our own NSR28 at Cheddleton Station.

Just had a quick run out to Cheddleton this morning and the restored coach looks absolutely stunning, and positioned alongside an unrestored one really emphasises the work that has been done.
Also saw that the Polish tank was in steam and scheduled for a run later in the day but unfortunately was not able to stay and sample it's reported, vocal performance....

Very vocal. A distinct Roar though over a sharp bark, it's like having a mini Jubilee going up the bank!
Nice to see you again earlier, sorry I had to leave so quickly. Hopefully see you back CVR soon. :)

My footage and some pictures from the Anything Goes Gala 2014. I hope this was financially successful, it would be nice to see more of this sort of thing in the future. 2944 is a credit to everyone who worked on it and it goes like a bat out of hell

Thought I'd answered this, but my post seems to have disappeared lol.
Subject to successful running on Tuesday, it should be TKh 2944.
