It looks as though the February steam gala has been cancelled. Its crossed off on the running days and there is no mention of it on the CVR website.

I can confirm that the February gala will now not take place. The next event will be Barney Buffers for the February school holiday.

Newly added to our events list today is a diesel gala that will take place on 26th & 27th March. Further details will be released soon.

Good news, let us hope that March brings dryer and warmer weather for the diesels, although it won't take much to beat snow and minus 12!

Today's new entry under "Forthcoming Events" on the CVR website states that it will.

Moorland & City Website appears to have died - at least on the address I bookmarked. FWIW, which isn't much, companies house shows accounts overdue.

As a young boy I used to see the Mineral trains running on the Stoke to Leekbrook line at Milton as my Grandparents lived in the aptly named Station Grove in Milton. I am amazed that after all this time it is to be bought back into use. Why has work on this section been delayed until March?

I don't know, but if I was going to resurrect 10 miles of track out in the open, I might try to avoid the bitter winds and rain of January/February. Perhaps the revivalists feel the same way.

It was a footplate experience day and 44767's last running day on the railway. There is also a Burns Night dining train tonight.

Ah right, It had the head board on saying 'The Moorlander Limited' & People in the Mk1 Wine/dine set......I was told by the crossing keeper it was a private charter today.
