And miss crossing the Britannia Bridge and Menai Strait? Bangor has little to recommend it. Small University town. Enjoy the ride to Holyhead. Pubs there too.

Thanks I've looked at the Camra website and there are indeed some passable pubs in Holyhead.
However as we are still at Euston awaiting Les Ross I might not get there at all

As at 0930, it doesn't look like the ECS movement from Willesden to Euston , due to depart at 0845 has left yet.

I hope for all travellers that its not an ominous sign.

The complete lack of information is annoying but I guess thats the norm for Steam Dreams

If RTT is correct Class 86 has still not left WN light engine. I assume stock arrived Euston with diesel trapped at buffers?

Maybe the ECS and/or loco for this service have also been affected by the earlier GBRF freight failure? Tornado's ECS is reported in the other thread to be over an hour late.

Yes, you are right. Its the 86 coming down from Willesden, not the ECS.

The stock looks like it got in to platform 1 ok, but as you say, its the 86 that's missing. Sorry for any confusion caused by my earlier post.

Apparently Les Ross had a fault. My comment about the lack of info is the fact that Steam Dreams have only just come through and tell us that something has happened but not in detail. The gentleman said it's difficult to get information at present which surprises me given the fact everyone has mobiles etc

Thanks that's useful, i still fail to understand why Steam Dreams are unable to give any indication of whats going on and leave it up to passengers to find out whats going on

Hold your breath on this one. If Les Ross is fixed, and that may be a big 'if', it may lead to a truncated trip to Holyhead/Bangor/Llandudno.

Les Ross is apparently offically buggered there is talk of getting a Diesel from Southall but that's unlikely

Shunt release the diesel that brought in the ecs (assuming 08/09 available at Willesden)?

The tour has a three hour timing to Crewe plus generous leg stretch there, and less than two hours layover in Holyhead would be a bonus.

    Nil Desperandum.

No actually. Totally understand how frustrating current situation must be for you, but in my experience SD are well ahead of others in doing their best to look after passengers when things go wrong. In particular having staff on the platform at every pick-up point.

Hope your day is salvaged somehow, anyway.

Cancelled, just told by steward assuming SD managers are up with the posh customers as they are conspicuous by their absence at the Standard end

Deleted, my reference to the possibility of another (DBC) loco being used not possible.

The St David railtour is DBC so nothing to do with WCRC.

Would that not have been a DBS 67?
