    i would imagine you would have to be current on hours on what ever type, and as for formation flying, arn't most display pilots ex military , so would have a very good grounding in formation flying,
    Also glad to hear VERA is safely back home.

    Yes, but there's a difference between knowing how to do it and being authorised to do it. A bit of poking around has found this:

    Which is pretty clear that formation flying requires significant extra effort to gain PDA. Mind you, there's plenty of time between now and next September to ensure that all the relevant pilots have formation flying PDAs, and thus being able to field as big a formation in the air as possible :)

    Whilst its been good to have 2 flying lancs, here, the fact that her, and her crew are back home safe and sound, after what must have been a very tiring flight has to be good news
